Rise and shine

The other day was an uphill battle, like for realsies uphill ridiculous running.

20140530-142859.jpg there is a great big hill close to my place that I find it convenient to ignore but this week I mapped it out and it didn’t look too bad so I went for it.

Oh how maps can be wrong lol. Almost two miles of winding steep uphill and I was spent.

My was a little worried about the downhill only because the last time I ran in this area I fell and ended up on crutches:(. Luckily that wasn’t the case this time.

Made it home safe and sound. Now I’m just deciding if I should run a marathon on Sunday, any thought???

Stay Real.

This is how we do it

I just read an article on active.com about how to train for a half marathon….It was not at all what I do lol

I have been trying to find a program that is the closest to what I do in order to share with you but I’m so awesome it’s hard to compare I just do whatever, whenever so it’s not really set.

It depends on my schedule but usually I’m running 4-5 days a week. When I’m intentional, I’ll make sure there’s at least one ‘workout’ and one long run.

By workout, I mean something I don’t want to do like hills or a run with sprints ( known as fartlek drills in the biz). If I’m feeling like freaking Wonder Woman I will do both those things and a long run but let’s be real, that happens like once a month.

This is the closest I found to my ” ideal schedule because the week runs are shorter( I would probably do at least 4 miles) and I would love to do a crossfit type class 2x a week. For me, that helped build up my cardio respiratory endurance and my legs felt stronger.
Well, the pup and I are off to do a pretty terrible hilly 4 mile run so I’ll try and get some good pics.

Stay Real.
